As an immigrant, I have always felt a deep connection to the power of self-expression through art. As an empathetic person, my journey has been one of transition, overcoming obstacles and culture shock, transformation, and finally, adaptation, and my art reflects these experiences. Through my work, I strive to capture the essence of my unique journey, the places I have been, the things I have seen and experienced, and the textures and emotions that have led to this present moment.
Creating one-of-a-kind art is a passion of mine. It allows me to delve into the depths of my imagination and create something entirely new and fresh that combines different worlds. I love the process of experimentation, mixing colors, textures, and mediums, as it takes me back to my childhood days of playing with color and is very satisfying to my inner child.
While I enjoy painting landscapes with varying degrees of realism, my passion is in the formation of abstract shapes and forms that reflect the perfectly imperfect world we live in. Textured canvases particularly appeal to me, offering physical depth and richness. By building up layers of paint and other materials like wax, I can create a tactile quality that draws the viewer in and invites them to explore the work in greater detail. I always strive to develop a sense of dimensionality that reflects the complexity of the world around us.
Overall, my art reflects my unique perspective as an immigrant artist who has lived physically, emotionally, and mentally in hybrid worlds. I invite others to explore our mutual connection across time and space through my work.
